Namukale Chintu


Namukale is a Wealth Manager for High and Ultra High Net Worth African Investors at UBS. Prior to this role, she was Head of Global Proprietary Capital investing in UBS Asset Management. Before joining the Bank, Namukale was Co-Head of Africa at Syntaxis Capital, where she developed a Sub-Saharan Africa focused mezzanine investment strategy and established the firm’s London office. Previously, Namukale worked for SMBC EMEA Corporate Banking where she developed a post financial crisis Sub-Saharan Africa focused strategy.  Prior to the 2008 financial crisis, she held capital market roles at Morgan Stanley and Lehman Brothers.

Namukale holds a Ph.D. that focussed on international business and finance in Africa from the Cambridge Judge Business School, where she also taught on the school’s Executive MBA programme.  She also holds two MScs in Financial Economics and Management Research from the University of Oxford as a Rhodes Scholar, and a BA in Economics from the University of Zambia as a Bank of Zambia Scholar.

During her Ph.D. Namukale Co-founded the Cambridge Africa Business Network. She also served on the Cambridge Judge Business School Faculty Board from 2011 – 2012 as well as the governing body of Oxfam Great Britain from 2009 to 2015, in the Trustee Audit and Finance committee.
