2018 - Re-imagining growth in africa
The aim of last year’s conference was to highlight Africa’s growth potential by considering how to translate economic growth to the broader population in order to drive inclusivity and create impact on the ground. In particular, we focused on models and structures unique to the continent and discuss the leapfrog methodologies that have spearheaded growth on the continent thus far.
2017 - making an impact
The theme of our 2017 conference was delivering impact in Africa. Through luminaries from a wide cross-section of sectors like Traditional and Alternative Finance, Media & Culture, Energy, Technology, Agriculture, and Education, the CABN 2017 conference sought to provide a platform to demonstrate how multinationals, NGOs, individuals, and others are marking an impact in these fields and in what ways will these entities make an impact going forward.
2016 - transforming africa: creating value and driving consumption
Over the past decade, Africa has experienced significant economic growth. Numerous success stories created and sustained the narrative that the continent was rising. However, Africa is currently going through a period of uncertainty. Challenges include over-reliance on revenues from commodities, low commodity prices and over-reliance on external partners. The conference explored how Africa can transform itself to navigate through these difficult times, particularly by adopting models that focus on value creation and consumption.
